Effective Home Remedies For Skin Tags
Many individuals who present with skin tags find them embarrassing, humiliating and may view them as damaging to their well-being. However, it is important to note that if you have a skin tag it is not harmful to your health or dangerous in any way – except psychologically, of course. A skin tag is a benign growth that appears on the skin, generally among folds on the neck, armpits and sometimes facial area. Skin tags are most often discovered on people of advanced years and who present with obesity; however it is not exclusive to this demographic as the exact causes are still unknown.
Despite being harmless, skin tags are quite unsightly and can influence an individual’s appearance negatively. There are several methods of removing these skin tags with expensive cosmetic creams and surgery being two options. However, if you prefer a less costly option below are some effective home remedies for skin tags.
The potato is not a very popular option, but it is extremely effective, inexpensive and widely available. To use, slice a piece of potato and bandage it to the skin tag overnight. Continue this procedure for several consecutive days and soon the tag will blacken in color and eventually fall off.
Garlic is well known as an organic form of skin nourishment, as well as an option of home remedies for skin tags. To use, grind the garlic to form a pulpy paste and place the paste on the tag with a bandage. Leave the garlic on the skin tag overnight and continue the procedure for a few days consecutively. By the week’s end the tag should have blackened and fallen off.
3. Apple cider vinegar
As with baking soda and castor oil, apple cider vinegar is a popular remedy for a variety of skin conditions in addition to the skin tag. To use, dip a ball of cotton wool into the apple cider vinegar and then apply the ball to the skin tag. Rub thoroughly, although gently, for approximately 15 minutes at least once per day. It is important that you clean the area with lukewarm water before and after treating it with apple cider vinegar.
4. Baking soda with castor oil
This natural remedy is very popular as a treatment for skin tags, warts and moles. To use, combine a pinch of baking soda with three drops of castor oil to form a paste. Apply the paste to the affected area 1-2 times per day for one week and within the week there should be a clear visible difference.
5. Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is one of the most popular and effective home remedies for skin tags. This can be applied in a similar way as the apple cider vinegar, however it should be applied at least 2-3 times per day for one week consecutively in order to remove the skin tag.
Skin tags can be embarrassing health conditions, but they are easily remedied using these organic home remedies for skin tags. More tips about skin tags and how to remove them naturally can be found in the Moles Warts & Skin Tags Removal book that we reviewed here before.
